R/A Cultist Rajazan farming
In the far northeast corner of unwaking waters lurks Cultist Rajazan. Why do we need to bonk this guy in the head till he dies? He drops a green, ready made HoD sword. Plus it looks darn purty too.
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Rajazan%27s_Fervor
I'm using a R/A for this, though any secondary would probably work just fine.
WS: 11
Expertise: 14
Marksmanship: 12
Rest in shadow arts
Skills:
Dodge
Zojun's Haste
Storm Chaser
Dash
Death's Charge
Troll Unguent
Poison Arrow
Hunter's Shot
Equipment: Some sort of longbow with a poisoners string. A second bow with a barbed string would be nice, but is not necessary
Usage: The hardest part about this is simply getting to the guy. Start from the harvest temple and circle around until the shiroken start charging you (they aggro from about triple range). As they charge, activate troll unguent and run by them with dodge, then zojun's haste, then dash, then storm chaser if necessary. Use death's charge to target faraway spirits or rangers to get a bonus jump ahead. After you pass through these, you will be at a rez shrine. Continue east without aggroing anything. A group of creeping carp will approach the shrine as you pass. If they attack the shrine guards, you can sneak by them. If not, activate troll unguent and dodge and run past the saltspray dragons around the rim. You will pass by Cultist Merki and a group of pop-ups. Heal up, then run by the next set of shiroken the same way as before. Once past them, edge your way towards the west end. You may aggro the kraken if need be, just don't go near the dragon boss or the creeping carp.
Finally, you will see rajazan and his entourage standing by a cliff near the end of the zone. Run past him towards the gate until you shake aggro. Now you will be using poison arrow and hunter's shot to degen Rajazan and his buddies to death. Quite often, they are glitched into attacking a group on the cliff and will not move very much, making this very easy. Run back towards the gate and the nook just beyond it to break aggro if any of them chase you (use dash or dodge). This usually ends up as a game of hit-and run.
Targeting order for enemies:
1: Ritualist - casts displacement which completely nullifies your attacks. Kill quickly
2: Assassin - Can cripple you if he gets too close, kill him to make sure it doesn't happen
3: Warrior/Deathhand - Neither are any real threat. The deathhand has plague touch so don't let him get close though.
4: Rajazan - Uses plague touch, chilblains, cultist's fervor, unholy feast. Just keep him out of range, keep him poisoned and bleeding and he'll go down in no time.
The entire run takes 10-15 minutes. Happy hunting!

I doubt it, I'm using ranger skills pretty heavily here. The assassin skills I added were just an afterthought for convenienve.

Believe it or not, awhile back someone posted a way to solo this boss with an assassin. Someone also posted a solo build for a Ritualist. I looked, but I couldn't find the thread.

I've been soloing him with a W/X Auspicious Parry build for a while now. Not a single sword, unfortunately, although I've killed him almost thirty times.
A hard bugger to get to. The hardest part of it, easily.

With the zone right there, once you kill him can you just go through that zone and come up to keep farming him or do you have to restart from the town? Sorry, I haven't been to those later places yet to find out for myself.

You can only get in (if you've been to the Kurzick side I think) but you can't exit from that town.
Averages about 1 sword per 10ish runs.

I'm kinda curious about that build, could you PM me it?
I would think it's revolves around the two Ripostes?

I'd imagine that the build is whatever GETS you to Rajazan, and it's relative ease after that, so whatever gets you to him is the focus (read: wammo), then the rest is gravy when you get to him
I'd say choose your weapon/shield/armor carefully to maximize survivability for the run (as in, bonus while enchanted/in a stance)

To get there with an assassin/anything use shadow form, dark escape, dash and deaths charge. sup shadow arts mask and sup dmg dealing mask (crits or dagger), using +20% enchanting mods doesnt hurt either. May take some time to get it under control, farmed 8 swords with it as A/R (stormchaser gets u there really fast and troll unguent is good healing as it cant be shattered by rajazan)
furthermore: he will try to plague touch, so if you go as daggerguy, don't use conditions on him, and he will shatter shadow form with chilblains so don't use that either when u are close to him.
You can lure him by waiting till he is the closest of the group to u, then just walk towards him till u get him in ur aggro circle, then just walk away and see if the others drop, if not then escape away and try again.
And yes I was the one who posted this a while ago if u have major trouble doing this, you can whisper me! ign: mistical miss
note: I can also solo him as A/Me, using mesmer skills (it can be done as mesmer primary!!) look in the mesmer farming thread to see how it works whisper me if u need help!

I've done it with the following warrior setup. The Run is pretty simple once you have done it a couple times and the fight is really easy. Don't even bother with the ritualist as all your damage is from riposts. Thankfully our cultist friend pulls out his sword for melee when u get in close to him. You can probably mess with this a lot and still get it to work. Its handy to have a + energy wepon or offhand that you can switch to mid run as a way of hiding energy. Running through the constructs drains it so if you need a sprint and are at 0, just throw on the engery wepon/offhand and you're off to the races.

To make the run/fight easier (and using a pure Ranger Build), use Escape, Pin Down and Apply Poion instead of Posion Arrow and the 2 assassin skills.
It's funny watching him limp to you, then you run away, he turn, you shoot him some more, etc...

Here's a pure Ranger build that I find very effective:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ans_Fervor.jpg
You don't need to have any of the Assassin speed skills if you're judicious with the ranger speed buffs. Dodge and Zojun's Haste should be used whenever you're running through the Shiro'ken Rangers. Storm Chaser is fine for running through Carp and other open spaces.
When you get to Rajazan then it's pretty simple. With Seeking Arrows on the Bar you can pretty much ignore the Ritualist. Her Displacement Spirit is nullified. I typically drop Barbed Trap right when my aggro bubble's edge is about to touch the group. Then I prep Seeking Arrows and fire a Poison Arrow at my target. Then I run back using whatever speed boost is available.
Barbed Trap is your "oops I f---ed up" safety net. It will save you if you ever let the mob get too close.
Here's the order of things I kill:
1. Assassin --> his cripple is deadly to you. Remove him immediately.
2. Warrior --> he has the "Charge" shout which makes your speed boosts less effective.
3. Ritualist --> Displacement makes her annoying, but Seeking Arrows + Poison Arrow dispatches her quickly.
4. Deathhand --> nothing serious here. He drops rather quickly.
5. Rajazan --> Rather easy but high on HP so he goes last.
Order of Skills:
1. Barbed Trap (for safety, but also because you get bleeding and cripple)
2. Seeking Arrows (only when Ritualist is alive)
3. Poison Arrow
4. Hunter's Shot as enemy closes in.
5. Speed boost to run away.
Occasionally you may find they follow you all the way to the back. Simply allow them to do this, but circle them and lead them back to their original spawining point. Don't panic! They will follow you back. Avoid the Assassin at all costs if it is still alive.
Lastly, it's nice to have a longbow with a poisoner's string. I find the Elswyth's Longbow is perfect. You can usually find one at the ToPK in Tyria.
